Relocation Guide

Everything you need to know about moving to the Gulf region.

Before You Arrive

Secure employment and visa sponsorship before relocating. Most Gulf countries require a sponsoring employer for residency. Gather attested copies of academic credentials, marriage certificates and birth certificates - many require apostille from your home country.

Choosing a City

Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer the most international community and infrastructure. Doha and Manama are smaller and more compact. Riyadh and Kuwait City have rapidly modernizing expat hubs. Pick based on industry concentration in your field.

Housing

Rent is typically paid annually in 1-4 cheques. Budget 25-35% of salary for housing. Furnished apartments are common for newcomers. Compounds offer pools, gyms and community for families.

Schools

International schools follow British, American, IB and Indian curricula. Waitlists are long - apply 6-12 months before arrival. Fees range from $5K to $30K per year per child.

Healthcare

Mandatory employer-provided health insurance covers most needs. Private hospitals (NMC, Mediclinic, Cleveland Clinic) deliver excellent care across the GCC.
